Our house now has shutters!

Aluminium shutters are unfortunately very, very expensive. It costs about a thousand euros per window and easily 20k for a house. I think it is the most expensive shading option, but also the most beautiful :)

Yes, you are right about everything. For our house, they would cost around 40,000 and up. So we won't be able to afford them immediately, maybe at a later date. Probably not though.

Thought of your fixed shutters when we looked around on Saturday at the garden market at Laubach Castle. The attachment here is very natural, but it took some time. This form of aesthetic decay on an otherwise well-maintained building is rarely seen in Germany. I like it.

Of course, the patina is appealing. Sometimes even desirable. Many newly built houses today are sterile and gray on gray. A mere fashion trend. Yet sometimes something old with signs of use has more charm than something new. Even if it’s old shutters next to new windows. I have deliberately left some old barn doors in place. On a 150-year-old barn, a new Hörmann sectional door really looks stupid. It is practical, but visually impossible.

Hello Alex, we "developed" our colors with the Brillux color designer.. However, we then changed the shutters to RAL 7033.
