Our house now has shutters!

I know that about the trees. With shading measures for the house, there is also the feeling, but moisture regulation does not play a role there as it does with trees.

Finally, no RAL 7016 wonderland with rock garden. Very nice!

For the 4 shutters (approx. 50x150 cm) in larch, we paid 520 EUR.

That is a fair price! I would also like to have shutters, but unfortunately the arrangement of the windows here is anything but ideal for that and my husband is somehow not really in favor of it either. But I just find shutters visually unbeatable and also definitely an alternative to "ugly" roller shutters in terms of function. Our house originally had some as well, but unfortunately during renovations over the decades the window layout was changed and the shutters were removed.

I am just wondering if shutters with a hipped roof and/or floor-to-ceiling windows also look that nice?

I also have shutters. Aluminum, powder-coated. They look great and always give the house a southern flair.
Of course, you have to open the windows to close the shutters. But the window dimensions also have to fit.

I was very lucky. Years ago, I found the right shutters in Balingen. They fit perfectly in size and even the color matched perfectly.
Maybe I can upload a picture someday. I have the shutters on the visible side of the house; on the weather side and back side it wasn’t really feasible dimension-wise. The offer price for 5 windows was 6000 euros. I bought them for 300 and installed them myself. Another 100€ for mounting materials.
They will certainly last another 50 years.
