I think option two from Bauexperte is quite good, but I would swap the shower and bathtub, and I consider the privacy wall to be unnecessary.

Construction expert and Yvonne, do you really think that a lot of light comes through the windows? These are 80x80 windows on the north side. A WC should be there, with 2 children and then 4 people there should definitely be 2 WCs.

In every room, 1/8 of the floor area must be considered as lighting area; these two are sufficient for that. Maybe consider replacing the two elements with _one_ window measuring 1.60 x 0.80 m; this also works easily after building approval and does not harm the appearance.

I also like Yvonne’s idea of swapping the shower and bathtub from (my) variant 2, it could suit the room well; it would especially further relax the situation around the washbasin. Glass instead of masonry should still be the method of choice in this variant.

Otherwise – even on the north side, it is not permanently night.

Rhineland regards

Not much, but enough. We have a window 65H and 140W to the north in the bathroom, which is also enough for our 9 sqm. If you had a window without a parapet 80 wide in that position, the whole front half would remain dark.

I would then possibly turn the toilet so that you don’t face the door, but look at the shower. I personally always find it nice to have the tub near the washbasin, as you have a place to sit by the washbasin. The towel holder can go to the left of the windows, opposite the door.

And everything is nicely separated.

Windows must remain. It is a design element for the exterior views.

A washbasin on the side has the disadvantage that space is limited. My wife would like niches next to the sink in the partition wall for towels, etc.

Everything is not so easy at all.

@ Marcus

The jack of all trades also does not exist for your dear wife; with these room dimensions and object requirements, you will have to face the consequences.

I don't find it bad that the windows can't be changed. It was just a suggestion from my side to replace the frames with glass ;-)
