Hello,
we received approval last week for a 620m2 plot of land and are now considering how to orient the future house (9 by 11m) on it.
Until yesterday, when we were at our future GÜ, we favored the upper option with the plot directly at the northeastern building window, but then the kitchen would be in the west. The building window is the 5m line to the south and west and the L around the house to the north and east in the upper option.
The GÜ suggested a rotation yesterday, which makes the floor plan design significantly better, but we would have to move the house 4m back, which would shorten the garden to the south by 2m, but we would have a significantly larger front garden to the north.
The shaded area is the house, the frame around it is the building window, and each large box is 25m2 in size, starting from the southwest corner. Carports may be set up in the L northeast of the house.
Which option seems better to you? Until yesterday, I thought the upper one was better because the garden is largest that way, but the proposed floor plan rotated is clearly better, and this way a parking space could also be built in front of the house.
Thank you

The lower one - for the reasons you mentioned below. The garden in the south is completely sufficient, you also need space in front of the house! Otherwise, it will eventually be lacking - think big!

Thank you very much for the response. I have so far considered the space in front of the house as wasted space and therefore did not even think of placing it more centrally on my own.

We marked out the plot and the possible orientations of the house with barrier tape yesterday. After that, it was clear to us that we would choose the upper option with the small front garden. The 2 meters of additional garden make a huge visual difference; I wouldn't have thought it would matter so much. It might also be due to the slight slope on the site.

we also placed our house as far north as possible. The plot is 30x20 meters in size. The house is 3 meters away from the north and is 10.5 meters long. So we have a 20x16.5 meter garden in the back. In front is relatively tight, 3 meters is really not much. 1 meter is taken by the platform. In front of that, 1.2 meters by the access path leaves 80 cm for a hedge or a fence with a bit of pi pa po. But in return, a really decent garden space is possible in the back. Almost all neighbors have placed their house right in the middle and have tiny gardens.

ps: if you have a confirmation for a plot, you also have a [Flurkarte]. If you do something as important as the position of the house, can't you use the [Flurkarte] and place the house on it to scale? The sketch is awful. You could also have a few more infos right away like, for example, the street position, neighbors, etc., and possibly bring in completely new ideas.

And: the further into the garden, the longer the sun is on the terrace you step out a bit from the row of houses, but everyone as they like

If you plan the garden cleverly, you use the diagonal and not the sightline perpendicular to the house to achieve a _Mehr_.
