So... with us it looks friendlier at 8.5sqm - surprisingly we have also just built, (with 300L storage tank and controlled residential ventilation..., there is electricity too;)) But I guess it also depends on the heating technology? No idea - was something mentioned here?

The technology (controlled residential ventilation) is up at the ceiling, the device itself is behind the waste paper around the corner in the photo)

Unfortunately, we have to make compromises. Otherwise, we would end up with a financial burden that we actually don't want to bear...

We would rather not swap the utility room with the little room, as it is so practical facing the carport – and thus towards the car (shopping, etc.) – and towards the garden. Which door would you do without, EveundGerd?

The window in the bathroom on the ground floor is again a question of symmetry. The window in the wardrobe cannot be moved any further, so it would look strange from the outside again. Due to the ventilation system, we also hope that the ventilation problem will be manageable.

I actually find the stair corners quite nice. It doesn’t look too uniform and stiff... Especially in the living room. The bedroom extension is actually planned as storage space and there are also possibilities in the little room as well as upstairs in the hallway...

The utility room at your place, Yvonne, looks really nicely structured! We also have to accommodate a 300l water tank, gas boiler, and the ventilation system.

...and the gas pipeline, gas meter, heating circuit distributor, electricity, cable connection, Sat technology, network etc...

I would be interested in the areas that are not visible in the photo.

I just want to point out that significantly less space remains than indicated in the plan.

I think I saw a door from the utility room to the carport in the drawings.

Why does the utility room have to be facing the carport? Our utility room is indeed facing the carport, but we still carry the groceries through the front door or the patio door. Through the window is impractical.

I am also in favor of swapping the two rooms and do not see the benefit of this utility room exterior door.
The distance from the front door and this exterior door to the carport is the same, so why go through the ugliest room instead of using the nice main entrance?
By the way, we have a patio door from the utility room under the carport: it is hardly ever used... and never for groceries

Regarding the utility room planning, I have forwarded the whole thing to our specialist and pointed out our wishes. He will take a look at everything and then tell us how much space we need to plan for equipment, cables, etc., and where there is still room for cabinets. As soon as I have an answer, I will report back!

Regarding the room swap, to be honest, I don't yet see the advantages it would bring if the little room becomes our utility room.

The utility room was located towards the carport and garden for the following reasons:
- as already mentioned, groceries directly from the car to the utility room
- "dirt sluice" from the garden... later for the kids, but also for us (which is why, for example, the sink is there) or for ((grill) parties as the shortest way to the bathroom
- hanging laundry in the front doesn't really make much sense. That is east-facing and therefore gets the least sun.
