Hello everyone,

we have received an offer for the surveying and I just wanted to quickly ask if this is okay and if anything might be missing. A plot of land was purchased in Hessen in a new development area:

Rough staking out: €225 plus VAT (flat rate)
Fine staking out: €675 plus VAT (flat rate)
Building survey: €835 plus VAT (according to the administrative cost regulations)

plus the costs of the surveying authority of about €130

In total, it will be about €2,200 including VAT.

so long, ck

Why two stakeouts. The surveyed property is obviously included in the purchase price. The house on it is only staked out once. Then built. Then measured. Although the staking out of the house can also be done by the foreman. String, try square, laser measurer, he has those too. Karsten

You always need 2 stakeouts. One on the green field and then one after the ground work, before the foundation slab/basement. Our surveyor always does that! Maybe it’s different with you and every bricklayer does it...

Karsten. Can't help himself. He himself narrowly escaped damage due to incorrect measurement and yet always gives the same advice. So I don't listen either: no insurance covers mistakes made by the foreman or similar. If the company goes bankrupt, the builder is left paying the costs. The surveyor is simply the better choice :-). I’m no longer familiar with the current market prices and fee schedules, especially not in Hesse, but €2,200 is quite a statement. Especially since the services overlap significantly. Better ask another surveying office, my gut feeling would have estimated at least €400 less.
