I'll say it as a layman... if the site manager has one or more reference points (curb lowering at the carport, tree island at the planned house corner) next to the usual boundary stones, then any trainee can do the measurement. Even I could have done it at our place.

Am I remembering wrong that it was one of your neighbors where someone measured roughly wrong? - something like about 25 cm messed up is haunting me in my head...

I would say it was 7 to 3 here. 10 cases, 7 times it was done by one of the construction companies, three times a surveyor came. Possibly also 6 to 4. I didn’t keep records. It is just not uncommon in some regions. Now surveyors are scarce here, I waited six months for the surveying of the finished house between order and execution. Possibly they are not eager to take on every single-family house. The prices mentioned in 1, however, are quite steep.

Hihi. yes. But that was a surveyor :p They were and still are 60cm - 70cm too low. If he hadn’t mismeasured, I wouldn’t have such a nice view.

No, that was with us. I just noticed and reported it. Phew, it still worked out just fine.

Does the surveying also depend on the type of house? 400€ is not little. We are building 2.5 stories without a basement and have to raise the ground by 1.5m to the street. Could it therefore be that the offer is somewhat higher because the effort is greater? I am trying to find another surveyor in the area and will see what he says.
