Hello everyone,

what do you think of the attached offer? This is apparently the standard initial offer from the "Haus & Hof electrician" of our general contractor. We recently had the planning meeting with the electrician and the costs have basically exploded. They currently amount to about €55,000 for a standard electrical installation without any frills. Socket outlets and LAN connections have increased (currently 97 / 20), but we completely removed SAT. Lighting circuits have increased from 34 to 75 (we will still adjust this. The electrician calculated his proposal for spotlights and completely overdid it in terms of quantity).

For a double socket, simply double the price of a single socket is charged, and the same for LAN. Duplex is twice as expensive. Is that normal? And VAT is added on top of these prices.

I would like to hear your opinion on this.
By the way, construction will take place in the Karlsruhe district.

Thanks and regards

Are you tied to the electrician? If not, ask if you can remove electrical work from the plans and get additional quotes (but be prepared for stress in the construction process if you choose a different electrician). If yes (this is often the case with the general contractor), it means take it or leave it. Translated: discussing or asking here is useless anyway because you have no choice except to reduce quantities.

Should the additional costs be on the GU standard or the complete installation?
Cooker connection socket, grounding system etc... should be standard.
Otherwise, when I look at my additional costs which were really high, yours are outrageous - Siedle AUDIO (!) for a thousand each....

Hello,
in my opinion, the prices in the offer are completely exaggerated. A socket costing €80,- is around €33,- in our area (Rhineland Palatinate, Hunsrück/Mosel). Admittedly, it is in the middle of nowhere.
Actually, a double socket then costs €66,-. It’s just a mixed calculation.
In addition to the switch at €99,-, is there also a burning point costing €85,- added, or is it then a complete switch-off, and in the case of a two-way switch, are there then 2x €99,-? In our area, switch-off costs €70,-.
Overall, the individual positions are absolutely meaningless and can cause significant additional costs depending on the design.
What does the room thermostat for a proud €239,- include? Does it include the connection of the actuators in the floor distributor and possibly the actuators themselves?
What is the motor connection? Possibly connection for roller shutter motor? Charging a proud €99,- for that is really steep.
I would try to get an alternative offer here if possible.

Thanks in advance for the answers. That confirms our impression. The offer includes the complete electrical installation and there are no additional costs compared to the GU standard. This was included in the GU fixed-price offer. However, as described, the costs have increased significantly due to the specific electrical planning.

I can't say exactly what the individual cost items include. After our planning meeting, the quantity of the items was basically just increased.

We have already obtained significantly cheaper alternative offers. However, GU said today that the contract for the electrical installation has already been awarded and the company can no longer be changed. In our opinion, nothing concrete had been agreed upon yet, and as with any trade, there is theoretically the possibility to remove it and award it ourselves.

To be honest, I find T€ 34 for the installation as well as the individual prices as whole individual prices (unfortunately) quite normal. I see that often. That is common. However, how you arrive at T€ 55 is not yet clear to me.
