The color is always relatively soft before the first heating and is baked in during the first firing. The installers also said that the device must be heated continuously for 3 hours during the first ignition and it will stink. We gave it full throttle for 5 hours and are satisfied. But we also have an attika. So it could also be incorrect ignition. Ultimately, dealers change their suppliers and always say whatever suits them at the moment. If the old one is no longer available, it MUST be bad, because otherwise they would still have it (otherwise you could buy the product somewhere else...). Nowadays you really have to take every statement from a seller (they have long since ceased to be advisors) with a grain of salt, or rather assume the exact opposite of what they say. Of course, there are exceptions, but they are quickly fired because they apparently do not boost sales. And complaints about a fireplace? That is a robust steel box in which something burns. Nothing can really break there.

We have been operating a Scan 48 for 10 years (with external air supply!). To this day, there has not been a single defect or malfunction. We run the stove every year for about five to six months with wood, supplemented by lignite briquettes. Our gas consumption has halved since the stove was installed. Recently, we only discovered that the stove currently meets the requirements of [BIMSCHG]. While searching for a wood stove, we were initially confused by the high purchase price. Today we know that Scan stoves are designed for sustainability, and in the long run, we have saved money with the Scan.

If you want quality, you simply have to pay double for a stove, e.g. for a Hase wood stove. They manufacture in Germany and have a very accommodating/quick claims handling.

Would you also like to explain why a scan is not quality?

And please explain to me how a Scandinavian manufacturer producing in Denmark is supposed to be worse in this regard. Denmark is not exactly known as a classic supplier country.

Both Scan and Hase will hardly have the steel to be processed from domestic production.

So please enlighten us with your knowledge as to why I have to pay 5000 euros or more for a wood-burning stove.

You will notice the difference when a problem/defect occurs with the stove. At Hase, efforts are made for quick processing and customer satisfaction, which usually happens through selected specialized dealers.

Scan, Morsö, Skantherm, Nibe, etc. are not bad stoves, but the problem handling varies greatly.

Hase also offers spare parts even after 20 years, if I remember correctly.

Normally, no problems occur with an oven. The thing is never really airtight anyway. If the gasket eventually breaks, you replace it with another one. If you have chosen a reasonably decent manufacturer, you will still be able to get spare parts for it in 10-15 years.
