For us, it was such that after submitting a bid to the city, we received a binding commitment for another property from a private seller and then decided on that, because the information from the city that we would also get their property came too late for us due to local elections and the changed composition of the city council. We were already "on word" with the private seller and did not want to break our word, even though we liked the city’s property better and it was also about 25,000 euros cheaper. But it was not a problem for the city either, because then another bidder got the property.
