And from the age of 14, it’s only there or not there at all.

It starts much earlier, practically from school age or when they get a mobile phone. From 14 onwards they then lie on their bed all day (as long as they are at home).

Best regards Sabine

I understand your objections regarding the children's room (sleeping), but he has the luxury of two rooms for that. It is not in the South, but at least still in the beautiful West. What use is a nice room in the South if the blinds are closed in the afternoon to darken it. As I said, I understand your objections well, but you can also look at it from another perspective. In addition, he would also have his peace in the room when we sit outside for a longer time in the summer again.

The ground floor must be revised, then you can swap the rooms on the upper floor. I don't really understand your arguments.

I tried out a few changes. The living area was widened by 75cm here. However, I had to swap the guest WC and the storage room, otherwise I wouldn't have had a window in the WC. Upstairs, I swapped and rearranged the rooms. Now we have a large bathroom and a bigger office, but unfortunately no storage room. Since we are building without a basement, that could be a new problem. Above the hallway/dressing room/office, we do have an attic of about 30m², but it is only accessible via a pull-down ladder and is therefore only suitable for smaller items. What do you think is better for the children's room? Option 1: two separate rooms (sleeping/playing) or option 2: one large room?

When it comes to fundamental changes, I would suggest to occasionally let go of what doesn’t work. Make it new, make it different, forget the hose: many roads lead to Rome.
