Silly question, if the door manufacturer is struggling so much there, just ask another manufacturer. Or maybe a company for [Mauer arbeiten]. Perhaps they will take over the complete installation for you, so that the other company only has to deliver the door.

I'm in, nelly190... the manufacturer is still in progress. I'm not naive. As I said.... my question should have been: how do I get clinker carefully milled out and reinserted as if nothing had happened!! I think there are milling machines that get rid of the mortar, remove the stones at the sides and above the lintel... later re-mortar again. Nothing should get damaged!!!

I would try to separate the stones with a grinder. Another idea would be to specifically use different bricks around the door. For example, black or something like that.

Thank you nelly190... this idea of grinding off the mortar is also on my mind, I just don’t dare to do it. Although I’m not exactly all thumbs when it comes to handiwork. It gets a bit tricky around the corner because there the clinker bricks overlap. That will be difficult. What I’m trying to do is track down my old bricklayer, who can’t do this work anymore but hopefully will stand by me with: "do it this way and that!" Or I have to find someone who will do it and do it properly!! All nonsense. If I had known back then.... then make the door with an inside rebate. That would be the order. The door or the frame can also break over the years.

The hardest part will be the beginning. Use a large angle grinder to make a cut and carefully try to loosen it. You can chip off the mortar from the stones with a hammer or if necessary with a drill plus a wire brush.

Nelly190, thank you very much for your effort here. I will see what I do. There are also special milling machines for that. The annoying thing is, I can’t just start destroying intact walls without knowing what’s going on. In my case, I don’t even know what all has to be removed except for the brick. I start taking out the stones and then I’m standing there because something doesn’t fit regarding the door. Let’s see if the company gets back to me. Thanks again and have a nice Sunday!!
