The KfW funding is finally here and I have one more question about it. I am planning a core renovation of a single-family house to the KfW55 standard. The single-family house will be inhabited by me and will additionally include a granny flat. The KfW loan has already been approved. Now the heating subsidy (KfW 458) still needs to be applied for. The conditions at KfW are as follows:
The start of the application process is staggered:
- As of now, private individuals who are owners of existing and owner-occupied (main or sole residence) single-family houses in Germany are eligible to apply.
- Probably from May 2024, private individuals who are owners of existing multi-family houses (with more than one residential unit) as well as homeowners' associations (WEG) in Germany will be eligible to apply, provided measures are implemented on the common property.
- Probably from August 2024, private individuals who are owners of rented single-family houses as well as owner-occupied or rented condominiums in homeowners' associations in Germany will be eligible to apply, provided measures are implemented on the individual property.
Question 1: From when am I eligible to apply? The house is currently not yet inhabited by me. Also, I receive more funding as it concerns two residential units. My plan is to apply for the basic subsidy and speed bonus.
Question 2: Since it is a core renovation, all radiators were removed and a floor heating system is being installed. Does that also fall under the funding? What exactly does the subsidy include? Only the heat pump including installation or more?
