Falling prices do not seem likely. Construction companies have fully booked order books for at least a year, so no one will offer big discounts to attract customers. In any case, there are probably still some people sitting on plots of land for which they do not yet have a construction contract, so demand is ensured for the foreseeable future. Especially as long as interest rates remain relatively low. Another factor is the regulations that are regularly tightened. Two years from now, this is still relatively manageable, but in the medium term the current KfW55 standard will become mandatory, which will drive up prices at the lower end. Something like a photovoltaic mandate will certainly come in the medium term as well. Waiting to reduce costs is a bet with rather unfavorable odds. You must also not forget at this point that building takes time. Building a house takes one year from the building permit (and with some companies significantly longer) and before that it also takes some time. Realistically, it takes two years or more from the decision to build until moving in.
