Electrician and shell builder, possibly also the structural engineer. For precast concrete slabs, the hole may already be left out during production.

What are filigree ceilings? I only know drywall or concrete. Concrete with spotlights is pretty stupid. Karsten

Filigree slabs are delivered ready to the construction site and then poured once the reinforcement is in place.

Ok. Thanks. So in the end a concrete ceiling after all, when finished. I imagine it’s very elaborate to install spotlights there. In our bungalow, there is no concrete ceiling, but only a wooden construction with insulation wool, foil, and drywall underneath. Installing spotlights there is of course very quick and easy with a hole saw.

Therefore, planning in advance is necessary, then the holes are reserved at the factory. The advantage of [Filigrandecken], in my opinion, is that only the joints need to be filled and not, as with [Orthbeton], the entire ceiling.

With us, all boxes were perfectly installed in the filigree ceiling according to the drawing. And there are over 50 of them. The ceiling parts themselves are also manufactured quite precisely, so I don’t understand why there was sloppy work with the boxes on your side. That is not normal. In total, we installed almost 90 spots, and in addition we also have lamp outlets. We are very, very satisfied with it. I see no disadvantages. If it no longer looks good, the box is closed and wallpapered over.

Furthermore, later the spot housings can also be used as regular lamp outlets. With us, one "box" cost 40 euros – that is the Kaiser Halo-X housing, fully wired and cast. For light sources, I can recommend the dimmable LEDON products. Lamps according to taste.

Installing spots in a gypsum ceiling is comparatively more difficult – it’s dusty, the cable needs to be found again, the vapor barrier (where present) must be protected, and the max installation depth is smaller.
