New building with general contractor garage built too small, what to do?

Then it is a huge family when four adults and at the same time also the children want to get in or out. Usually, only one car is used.

And now honestly. In the planned garage with a width of 5.59m, the situation looks the same. Not parked so close together and instead of 70cm there are suddenly 75cm spaces on both sides. If the big family rushes into both cars, this garage is also too tight.

Conclusion: The planned garage is quite tight, the finished garage is a bit tighter. Neither is comfortable.

P.S. That’s why I love the Multivan with sliding doors when there are children.

I don't understand why it wasn't remeasured beforehand, after all, you have to live with it forever.

I also think a Multivan is great! The big family doesn't necessarily have to get in or out at the same time, but having to back out first so you can all get into the vehicle together is also annoying. A Zapf double garage is wider, right?

It should be about 5.8m inside at 6m outside. So yes, it is bigger.

Our garage has an interior dimension of 6.70 m and I find that comfortable. Less would be a limitation, wider was unfortunately not possible back then. In the end, you only have the option to leave one car outside and build a carport. It's the better solution anyway, since you will store a lot of stuff in the garage.

A silly question, I don't know how it is with “standard” garages. Our internal dimension is about 5.50m. But there still has to be a gate. That also takes up space. So actually, the gate size should determine how many cars can fit side by side, right?

Edit: by the way, only one vehicle for us. If a second one comes up, we have a parking space planned at the house.
