Thank you for your answers, even if it is not quite what I wanted to hear

The measurement came from us, it would have been enough for us, we have two small cars.

So our A4 is 4.70, it still fits ... but still annoying.

I thought an A4 would be narrower

Double trouble. First planned tight and then a deviation in the wrong direction. Still amazing, did the bricklayer miscount in the first row or how does that work?

Two cars are environmentally nonsensical. Sell one car, then there is enough space for bicycles. Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Otherwise, I have to agree with my predecessors. A demolition is disproportionate. An average Golf is 180cm wide, two of them therefore 360cm (without mirrors). So if you park closely together, there is still at least 70cm on each side to get out. No one will have a garage demolished for that, as it is quite doable.

Oops, looked wrong ... with the 70
Cm
On the left and right, you must never get a 2-door then ....

Think again and imagine if, in both cars, the driver and front passenger plus children want to get in and out comfortably when both vehicles are parked. As I said, it was planned too tight from the start.
