Acidic soil is not dead soil. There are plants that need it, some gardeners deliberately create acidic soil
[*]Rhododendron [*]Azaleen [*]Magnolien [*]Hortensien [*]Narzissen [*]Heidelbeeren [*]Erdbeeren
whether they get enough light is another matter.

From the pictures, I cannot deduce any particular danger for a child, even if one of the trees does not look healthy. The trees do shed needles and occasionally drop some branches. That is not dirt, but nature, and therefore completely acceptable. So when designing the garden, simply include the trees. The corner near the trees is suitable for a garden shed. A shed roof slightly tilted backwards, and many of the remains from the trees are no longer visible, and directly beneath there is a secure roof. Adjust the planting to the soil; a list is already provided further above.

I always find it astonishing how little people are willing to find solutions with the given conditions. Intervening in nature and destroying habitats because of every sensitivity really gets on my nerves.

At least rhododendrons, azaleas, and hydrangeas are very suitable for shady areas.

So if the neighbor is really as ignorant as described here, that would trigger a certain appeal in me. Choose a short, concise, and effective solution :). I praise my neighbor for that, because it is exactly the same issue. But he said from the beginning, just cut out everything that bothers you on a large scale.

That's fair too, I mean actually he should do it and pay for it. I gladly take the work off his hands due to his age and have a clean boundary. Win - win, neighbors help each other!

That's perfect.

That's how it starts – who is the ignorant one... Of course always the other.
Other side:
Someone has had trees in their garden for years, a new neighbor moves in, has very particular ideas and demands the felling of a tree or a "deadly" pruning. And then the tone...
We just don’t know.

But we know that sentences like "The trees were here first and then we came.(??) so his response" come from the neighbor. This sentence gives me a severe chill, because what does it actually mean?

- We are the boss here, you are nothing
- Everyone who comes after us has nothing to say anyway
- Laws, regulations, needs don’t have to concern me because I was here first
- I don’t care about you newcomer anyway, piss off
- The trees are your smallest problem, just wait and see what else is coming for the newcomers
- When your child finally sleeps, I will take up chainsaw carving as a hobby

I see only a will for confrontation here; the range of possibilities is huge, from the trees being cut down to just a few branches being clipped. Money, responsibility, and timing are also up for discussion.
