Hello,

has anyone ever had a dispute like this? Our house has now been standing for 3 years, and for 3 years the controlled residential ventilation system (professionally installed with silencers as the manufacturer prescribes (inside the ductwork, etc., etc.)) has been running at level 2, occasionally on hot summer afternoons at level 3 (the device has 4 levels) to blow the relatively cool air on the east side into the upper children’s rooms / to suck out the warm air... It works wonderfully so far, so that the children’s room at the time when the two go to bed is also tolerably warm (one room is blessed by the sun from south and west, the other from the west (west-facing until the sun goes down)).

I can understand that it is disturbing, I hear it myself too, but the focus is our well-being and not the neighbor’s (who also doesn’t like that there are lots of toys lying around on our lawn from the children or that I often mow the lawn because of mulching or that he has asked the regulatory office whether it is lawful that I place the carport on the property boundary).

He said he cannot sleep at night because of it (but the system is running on level 1 365 days a year anyway, so that can’t be anything new) and he wants to have peace on his terrace. I had the installer check it again, everything is okay...

One Saturday morning at 7:45 a.m., his radio on the terrace loudly turned on (the station was okay) and played all day, additionally at some point a second (Makita construction site) radio was placed directly at the fence playing another radio station and the neighbor drove away...

When he came back I asked him if he could turn the Makita radio louder because it was playing classic radio and that is good for the heart and soul, he should listen to it calmly.
After that, he responded with quite harsh insults concerning, among other things, my professional position (I work in a workshop with people with disabilities, so the question arose whether I work there or am being cared for) or about my son that he felt sorry for him but that you simply cannot choose your parents...

Well, in any case, I am not inclined to accommodate him and for example, upon request, set the system to level 2 for 2 hours...

In small talk with an acquaintance who works at the environmental office, I only learned that this often leads to problems (everything related to controlled residential ventilation or air heat pumps, for example) and that this will probably concern him more in the future...

Have you ever had a situation like this?

I will probably now take the money in hand next year and install shutters to block out the sun...

How loud is your Controlled Residential Ventilation really? We only hear a faint rustling of the exhausted air (outside) in absolute silence. It cannot be possible that he finds this faint rustling IN his house so disturbing. Sounds like a passionate complainer and not a bad system. Ignore!

I don't know what kind of device you have there, but the gentleman is just a lunatic. As I already said before me, ignore...

But there will probably be more stress for you...

No, in order to increase or fulfill your well-being, you must adhere to certain rules. Especially regarding the noise level of controlled residential ventilation systems. In other words, only a certain decibel level may reach the neighbors. There are also rules of decency to be observed.

Does that mean professionally for you that you / or the non-expert took it into account, or does it professionally mean that the system is not damaged?

What is that sound? I can hardly hear our controlled residential ventilation system when I stand under the outlet and inlet. I can only guess that the rustling comes from the unit.
