Our roofer also did that for us. The only important thing, as written above, is that it is led onto the basement wall and not over the insulation at the top, otherwise there is a risk that something will run behind it. How was your basement sealed (you do have one, I read earlier, right?)? Or is it waterproof concrete? If it's waterproof (I'm not a professional), then probably the liquid plastic adhesive is applied directly to the concrete?!

Yes exactly, we have a concrete basement. It was coated with black (bitumen?) paint and then insulated with Styrofoam :)

Is the whole topic actually only important when building with a basement? Or also with a slab?

Yes, then it's the same as with us. In other words, apply liquid plastic from the window up to the bitumen thick coating. Maybe the perimeter insulation will have to be removed again?! We left it out at those points and only applied it after the sealing was done

That is ideal. However, I think if you apply it over the insulation, nothing will happen. Of course, only if you don't have groundwater. Because of the drainage, it is often done that way. Our assessor said that is okay, but not according to DIN..
