That would be the case if you already had an electric door opener, as most apartment buildings with an intercom system do. It could possibly be relatively easily replaced by the Mediator. The motor locks, on the other hand, have to be installed in the door. There, the power and signal would first have to be routed from the frame via a transition to the door and then to the motor lock inside the door. That's how I had it retrofitted for myself.
