Hello,

we have now been living in the new house (wood frame) for several months and have so far been almost always satisfied with the indoor climate, but since it has been so hot the last few days, it has become almost unbearable. Our bedrooms are on the upper floor, above which there is an attic. However, the rooms still have about 0.5m of sloping roof, in case that could be relevant.
This evening, I measured 28.6°C in my little daughter's room (one exterior wall facing north and one facing east, window in the east wall, shutters always down).
Is this "normal", or a reason for complaint??

May I ask which KFW standard or insulation you have?

Insulation is according to documents 240mm stone wool and wood fiber boards on the outside. I cannot say exactly about Kfw, I was not interested, but I believe it was 55. The result of the Blower-Door-Test was 0.48 if that should be important.

In our solid house and ventilation system with heat recovery (cools the incoming outside air with a heat exchanger and has automatic post-cooling, i.e. in summer when it is cooler outside than inside it blows in air without the exchanger) it is also 28°C in bedrooms with partial slopes. Today it was 36 degrees in the shade here, and last week it was always warm + at night never below 23 degrees outside. Everything heats up eventually... Almost everything, in the basement I still have 19.5 degrees. I've never liked being at the washing machine so much...

It is quite within the normal range – in this weather everything heats up more or less strongly. Without active cooling, there is not much that can be done.

I just don’t understand this question again ....? Do you think it would be cooler with other homeowners – except those with air conditioning?

It’s getting warmer in Germany; prepare yourself and buy an air conditioning unit if it’s too warm for you!

Rhineland greetings
