I am not aware of any studies regarding lifespan.

It would surely be important to find out in time whether the wood is in order and no fungi have grown in the meantime.
The roof tiles can simply be visually inspected.
How do you check the installed thermal insulation?

As far as I know, there are sensors that can be installed in the insulation to at least monitor something.
Of course, a foil that is at least somewhat transparent is always advantageous. This way, one can somewhat assess the basic condition of the insulation and the beams.

Otherwise, there will be few options for inspection.
If the foil is no longer good or a tape fails, one might notice a musty smell of fungus and/or mold.

Perhaps a blower door test is done every few years. Based on this, you should be able to find out the condition to some extent. However, localized problems are not always reliably detectable.

No, I'm just wondering what you expect. Most users can speak from personal experience. Surely there are also some expert users here, but not on every topic. I don't mean anything more by that. The forum is from laypeople for laypeople ;-)
