Hej,

the thing is 177cm wide, ideal for a 160cm bed, but also okay for a 180cm bed, right?
You pull the storage compartments out to the sides, so only a few centimeters remain on the sides, hmm..

Or maybe you can replace the top shelf with a LACK shelf 190cm...? Hmm...
Oh no, it is only 26cm deep and Malm 31cm... hmm..

No, no idea, sorry ;)

Hey chicki,
there are measurements in your answer that I hadn’t really realized before. In this respect, your answer is indeed very helpful for us..... Also, we (still) live more than 150 km away from the nearest Ikea. Our Swedish home doesn’t open until June :D

Do you happen to know the width of the headboard for the 180 cm bed? Because 180 cm is the width of the sleeping surface, so the headboard shouldn’t be much wider than that?!

Best regards
Andreas

196 cm.
Maybe you should browse the IKEA website yourself once more.
There are precise measurements for almost all pieces of furniture.
Have fun with that!

hey,
the Swedes have landed here, so we immediately bought the malm bed (180x200) with the 160 headboard.
Conclusion. It doesn’t look that bad after all....

BUT. In all our eagerness, we didn’t realize that the Pax frame does not come in the color of our Malm bed. We chose this MediumBrown because BlackBrown should actually be called black for Malm, anyway, that color certainly contains only microscopic traces of brown. And the MediumBrown looks totally awful in the IKEA showroom, but at home, in “normal” light, it fit.

One more note. The lying surface of the Malm bed (180x200) is actually (at least for me) 181 cm wide. Since I’m a cheapskate, I bought the slatted frames and mattresses at Aldi. Unfortunately, the slatted frames and mattresses from Aldi are not really 90cm wide, but just under 89cm. So now I fall into the 4cm wide gap every time I roll over to my dear one... ;)

So far so good. I’ll open a separate thread about buying the Pax now. There are many questions.

Bye
Big-Jim
