That's exactly what I wanted to point out.

Of course, I like to spend money on quality, but if I get the same quality for half the price just because it's a "noname" product, then that's totally fine with me too

I just can't believe there is a quality difference between 9 and 99 euros for a tile :P

Super, thanks for the detailed answer... I'll take a look at the tiles or maybe order a sample.

Hehe, yes exactly, it’s called "calibrated." We also recently had this explained to us in detail and would choose such a tile because the overall appearance is simply better due to the significantly smaller joints.

However, the price already reflects whether there are 10 different decors (i.e., different grain patterns in the "wood") or whether it repeats on every second tile. Size is also a question of price. You won't get a 180 cm tile for 20 euros. To exaggerate a bit, a 30x60 tile in wood look might still look decent in a bathroom, but it has little to do with what I wanted to achieve, namely a wooden floor that is usually laid in plank format and not in small square tiles.

There's some truth to that. You'll never really be able to imitate a wooden floor well with tiles – at least not in terms of feel, even if the look is okay. A grout pattern at least creates a finish that corresponds to the material. Despite all the practical advantages of tiles and really good-looking materials – I wouldn't overdo the fake.

I would also not combine completely different formats. Back then, we combined 30x120 and 20x120. You can see it quite well here in the sunshine.
