Hello house-building forum,
first of all: this is about an apartment, not a house! Since I couldn't find a condominium forum, I hope I am allowed to turn to you anyway!
I have the problem that I have to decide this week how we want the bathroom. The shell construction is done, the interior walls are (mostly) still freely definable.
Everything is settled so far, only the bathroom is causing us headaches. We have two options, see attachments. It is important that the length of 2.72m and the width of 3m are fixed. So in the design with the toilet corner the walls A and B.
The annoying thing is actually the window: it is 1.51m (!) wide and has a sash, i.e. two opening options (about 1.10m and 40cm), as well as a sill height of 1.43m. I don't have the height of the window at hand at the moment, but it should be about 60cm. I will go there again this week and measure it.
We do not want a bathtub, but a shower that is as large as possible and flush with the floor. Below (where the toilet bowl is) is the guest bathroom adjoining. The shower in the main bathroom should not be too big, i.e. not take up unnecessary space.
Overall, we need a washbasin (width 1.60m), the toilet bowl, the shower as well as a cabinet for towels and other small items.
Now the question(s):
- Which floor plan is, in your experience, better/more practical?
- Does a shower measuring 1.80m long and 1m wide make sense, or is that "too much"...? The gray shaded area is supposed to represent the shower measuring 1.80x1m.
- What ideas do you have about what else could be implemented or what could be done better?
Please don't pay too much attention to the wrong details in the floor plan (such as the washbasins turned the wrong way), a lot went wrong when changing the floor plan, and I didn't have the energy to correct everything properly again.
Thank you very much in advance!!
