Looking for deep dresser / system

Thanks , I didn't know Elvari at all. It will either turn into something or I will modify Hemnes dressers a bit. If it proves functional, there will probably be a carpenter order.

For explanation: Ikea fittings (e.g. Blum in Metod) are generally not too expensive for me, just overdimensioned for the planned use. I don’t need drawers with a 75kg load capacity to store my socks.

A drawer should at least run smoothly, meaning glide — especially if it is deeper than 35cm. Because honestly: 50cm is oversized for socks as well. You can fit them into 30cm depth too.

I wouldn't find it problematic that the Metod drawers are oversized. After all, such dressers/drawers are used for many years - and maybe someday not only socks will be stored inside, but sports equipment, screws, tools, craft supplies....

I think at the price of Metod you will find few alternatives. Probably the only chance: buy wood and make it yourself. Then the material alone will probably cost about the price of Metod excluding tools and labor.

Small update:

We now have two options, depending on how much else we still need to do on the little house

[*] If we don’t have time: Hemnes(?) IKEA dressers, where we would shorten the legs and put a shared "top panel" up there, or
[*] We buy IKEA Komplement (Pax) drawers and simply build carcasses in the desired dresser height (or you could also buy used Pax and cut them down to dresser size if you want to save yourself the trouble of drilling holes). Then I would just have to build proper drawer fronts "sometime" later; until then it would be a half-open dresser.

Buy metod corpuses and install the pax baskets.

Good idea, but unfortunately the dimensions do not fit. Metod in st is basically a 20 cm grid in width. Pax 50 cm/25 cm
