For switching, the Shelly already looks great. Then I only need a battery-powered transmitter on the new switch. Is there something ready-made available in this area?

Hi,

I can also recommend BleBox. They work with Wi-Fi, are very compact, and have an open API. Basically, they work without a central gateway, but can already be fully integrated, for example, in Domoticz. They can then also be addressed via MQTT etc. As far as I know, they are also already being discussed in OpenHab. The controllers are not as cheap as, for example, Shelly or even Sonoff, but they are of very high quality. The housing consists of a fireproof material up to 130°, which completely encloses the electronics. There are no screws, no plastic, and no openings. The dimming properties of the dimmer modules are very good. Controllers are available as:

    [*]Switch 230V (single and double)
    [*]Dimmer 230V
    [*]Shutter/blind
    [*]Door/gate control
    [*]RGB(W) LED dimmer 12-24V
    [*]LED dimmer (mono) 12-24V
[*]LED amplifier (amplifier only, no Wi-Fi)
[*]Button interface with battery (the one you are also looking for!)
    [*]Remote controls
[*]Parking sensor (display only, no Wi-Fi)
    [*]Air quality sensor
    [*]Temperature sensor

You can find the modules, among others, on Ebay.
If you’re interested, I am also a dealer...

Best regards

The difficult thing with the dimmers is that not all lights are the same. With some they work great, with others not at all. And 130° is rather a "cool flame," what is that supposed to achieve?

In the classic price comparison, a standard switch is about 4 times as expensive as a Shelly. Can they do something more or am I missing something? What does high quality mean?

I would suggest the Xiaomi push switch to the group, it is battery-powered. If a central control unit is planned anyway, the plus a Xiaomi gateway won't hurt.

Ultimately, the housing and thus a large part of the device consist of this material. It is a synthetic resin (polyurethane), which was cast around the electronics. This provides less "attack surface" for a possible cable fire or similar. The fact that the material is self-extinguishing for thermal class B (up to 130°) only underscores that it is a higher-quality material than, for example, pure plastic. Comparable products do not offer these properties at all.
