I have 2 routers. One km connection room in the basement, one on the ground floor as an access point. In the attic, so through 2 wooden ceilings, I still have network via the access point. On the ground floor, I have no network from the basement router because there is a reinforced concrete ceiling in between,... You should have no network problems in the attic, possibly with environmental influences. I restart the router directly via the router's console (accessible via IP).

Hello,

I have WLAN and network sockets. My WLAN can be switched on using a switchable socket, in which the WLAN router is plugged. The device is relatively inconspicuous (small white device from Apple). It is intended for the laptop and later for the iPad (or the children's iPod).

The stationary computer is directly connected via cable. The speed difference is clearly noticeable! My tip is to connect all fixed devices directly to the network, WLAN only for mobile devices (in my case also mainly because of the radiation exposure)!

Best regards

This is not about the fundamental question of WLAN yes/no but about the placement of the router. It should be clear to everyone that wired devices are faster.

I understand that, does everyone else?

Is it perhaps more sensible to look for the location based on usefulness rather than trying to receive the best signal in every corner?

I just want to give some food for thought!

Under no circumstances place it under the roof, as this can cause problems. Especially in summer, it heats up incredibly and the router can suffer from it. We have it in our equipment room and it works excellently.
