Should this be finished now so that the BP can be concreted next?

Hello Pet

your "sand" is gravel. first 0-32, then 0-45. sand would be around 0-2. the color of the gravel depends on the quarry area and does not matter. installing gravel is okay. I always prefer RCL, but that's a matter of taste. before you start making a fuss with the civil engineers, you need to have a bit more information. the frost apron: look closely at the construction plan and if there are discrepancies, you can ask the site manager and, if the answer is not satisfactory, complain. but so far I see amateurish agitation. a professional dislikes that. that's why he lets you cool off.

Sorry, I only discovered you today. We also built with Heinz von Heiden.

Regarding the frost skirts, there was a rejected attempt at an additional invoice: They claimed to have had to use more concrete than planned due to frayed excavation of the same, and here is the invoice. This can safely be rejected. We had to deal with quite a few such attempts.

Best regards, Gabriele

So the latest update is that Heinz von Heiden has sent their own soil expert again. He performed 9! core drillings. Unfortunately, no compaction was tested, even though this is part of my complaint. By chance, it was discovered that where the foundation cushion is only 45 cm thick and thus at its thinnest, on about 5x5 meters the clay soil under the cushion is no longer load-bearing and is waterlogged. The soil now has to be replaced down to a depth of 80 cm. At first, they said it was my fault because I had initiated the construction stop. And if the floor slab does not go on top of the cushion soon, the whole cushion would be ruined and would have to be renewed. They claimed it happened due to rain because the floor slab was not placed on the cushion immediately. (the foundation cushion stood for almost 3 weeks and it rained three times!) After I announced that I would hire an independent soil expert to examine the cushion, they now want to carry out the soil replacement at their own expense, although I suspect that even more has become waterlogged in the last three weeks. They are trying to push the matter forward quickly without further tests. For now, I will bite the bullet and hire an independent soil expert to carry out dynamic probing. Let’s see what comes out of it.
