You forgot unicycle bread.

The point was probably that the standard included cushion is not enough and therefore additional money has to be paid.

Yes exactly, K1300S.
Good that you say something about it Andre! You and hopefully also Immermehr, you can definitely contribute something good.

Best regards
Gabriele

Hello,

I saw in your pictures that you have the same civil engineer as we do. We are also building with Heinz von Heiden – also a bungalow.

The soil was all natural clay soil class 4. However, a complete cushion 70 deep was installed with geotextile. So that all spots are equally strong. I found the civil engineers competent, Mr. N. was also competent and has been in the business for several years. Frost protection gravel (yellow) was also installed. It looks funny at first. But after compaction, it is quite load-bearing.

Our foundation cushion really soaked through with about 120L of rain per sqm (January 2020). After about 2 months of pumping to drain, we proved in several load plate tests that it is load-bearing. Then the slab was poured.

Replacing or improving the soil (lime) is correct given the thin layer. But it has nothing to do with being "no longer load-bearing." Clay is always critical.
I will now bite the bullet and commission an independent geotechnical expert to perform dynamic probing. Let’s see what comes out.

The idea is not the worst! 3-4 probings should be enough. However, you absolutely must have the result interpreted (geological report), since the numbers won’t mean anything to you. It will indicate how many blows with a standardized weight are needed to reach a defined depth. Basically: the more blows, the better! Whether "better" really is good must be determined by the geologist.
