Hello everyone,

I am a bit surprised that there is no dedicated subforum here for the topic of "light." But maybe it's just me, because I grew up in a basement and in apartments with long eaves, so I have a kind of craving for light. I even turn on the lamp in normal daylight simply because it's brighter. Now to the actual topic, how do you handle lighting planning? Is it included in the process, does the architect do it, or do you have a special lighting planner? For me it's less about the integration with smart home and more about the type of light source and the position and whether it was chosen for design or functional reasons.

Regards
Flo

Either a lighting planner or acquire knowledge yourself and plan/simulate. The architect then only receives instructions on where recessed housings may need to be installed in the concrete ceiling.

Of course!
Work light where it is needed. Basic light where it is needed. Mood light where it is needed. Accent light where it is appropriate or where I consider it necessary.

Plan 8-15% of the room floor area as window areas (subtract frames and mullions), consider the cardinal direction
