Your wishes are incompatible. Granite is also acid-sensitive. Use tiles - seriously. And not too light, or if with a strong pattern. Otherwise, you will regret it without housekeeping help. One more item for my "What I'll do differently with the next house" list....

So, would you have natural stone or too light plain tiles?

That. With only a very slight grain as a pattern. But you can see every spot extremely. Even dust, etc. Actually, you’d have to mop every day.

I did it exactly the other way around and I regret it today as well. In the hallways, dark slate tiles with grain. There you really don't see the dirt that much. The problem is, however, that they always look dirty because of that, even when they are wiped spotless... I really regret not just laying the wood-look tiles throughout. They are top in every respect.

Well, somewhere in between the extremes. Basically the gray between white and black.

We also have black tiles. I can only conditionally recommend them for dirty areas, you see every footprint from the light gravel dust. I don't consider them permanently dirty though.
