I read it. Here is the summary: Neighbors have to tolerate 5 hours of robotic lawn mower noise per day between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. (+ quiet times such as 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) if the device complies with the "general technical regulations" (noise level).

Always a great idea to sue your neighbors. You could also just settle it by, for example, not running the mower on Saturday afternoon and having it operate the rest of the week. Suing is easier...

I was also curious and thought I had read that the owner of the robotic mower was first asked to limit its operation somewhat. this was refused, and then the lawsuit followed. therefore ... But the ruling is good for us heat pump users . (If only someone would now restrict motorcycles and NOx emitters ...)

Currently, the favorite with us is the Makita petrol mower, 51 cm, 1 gear, 1, PLM5121. The price-performance ratio seems good - it is supposed to cost €422. Camel says that it has even been available for €399 before - I think I would go for it then. Husqvarna and Sabo are more expensive. We are still skeptical about battery mowers - but they are also significantly more expensive with 2 batteries.

After mowing the lawn for the second time now with my father's 33 cm electric cable mower - (No-Name devices from 1987!, which has never been serviced) - I am of the opinion that the cable is not so bad after all - we handle it with a long cable and cable drum - you only have to unplug once. Much more annoying was emptying the small basket.

Gas mowers apparently need maintenance... unclear whether I would always do that so conscientiously.. so again the consideration to buy a cable mower. Does anyone know Stiga? Stiga electric mulch lawn mower Multiclip 50 E would be an idea - alternatively the AL-KO Silber 46.4 E Comfort electric lawn mower (would have the advantage that you could also mow with a basket sometimes, if the lawn is longer). However, I have also read several times that electric mowers can give up the ghost after 2 years... anyone with experience with either of the two manufacturers? Sabo always works - but that costs 450 € even with a cable.

Electric is simply a foolproof system. An electric motor that makes a few blades rotate via a gear. The rest is just housing for the whole thing. What could possibly break if the motor is something decent?! You just have to take care of your gas engine so that it’s always in good shape. Change the oil now and then, etc... If the cable drive isn’t a problem for you (cables and such), I would go for it. It is definitely easier to maintain and also quieter. Less someone will complain on a Saturday at 2pm. You also don’t have to "constantly" run to the gas station to buy sprint. Which brand you choose is up to each person. If money is tight right now, a cheap electric motor is an idea. If it breaks down in a few years, you buy something decent. Or maybe a robo mower beforehand.

I bought 10 liters for my petrol mower at the beginning of the season and the canister is still at least a quarter full. (pure lawn area estimated 300m²). Constantly going to the gas station looks different.
