Well, the design and the staircase do not convince me yet. The design in the other direction is missing. And especially when going down, for carefree walking you need at least 20 cm of clear height above your own height:

I quickly sketched it. With a knee wall. No need for light strips there. It also works without a dressing room, then with a more spacious bathroom and bedroom.

Could the area also be reduced by a roof terrace / balcony? Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the conditions in Switzerland. A kind of set-back storey is also conceivable.

But that means about 3 m² are deducted from each children's room. They would then become too small for us. But thanks for the inputs. A terrace could actually be done.

With a roof terrace, there are solutions that do not interrupt the eaves. However, 14m2 are simply one room less.
