Thanks for the compliments. We basically do everything related to the outdoor area ourselves. Unfortunately, we still have no plan at all and work bit by bit, hoping that the overall picture will fit in the end...

At the moment we are setting the edge limits of our paths with old paving stones. These stones rest on a mortar bed made of concrete gravel and cement (mix ratio 4:1, earth-moist). Then on the path itself comes small stone and mosaic paving on paving grit. But we’ll do that in summer.

We then set the doorstep stone itself and the steps on the same mortar bed. Although at first we only wanted to set them on frost protection, since the stones themselves were already incredibly heavy. But then we changed our minds at short notice.

From December (hopefully until the end of Feb.) we are getting an excavator from my husband’s company. During that time we want to carry out work where an excavator makes sense. Unfortunately, the weather and the broken excavator are completely holding us back. The plan was actually by the end of February: to set the edging stones of the access path, lay the foundations for the veranda and the carport, and dig out 50m of foundation for the dry stone wall. From February, unfortunately, we have to work full-time again and will only be here on weekends. By now, I’m just glad if we manage the edging stones.

When we have something halfway presentable, I will also update my blog on Wordpress again.

This approach is unproblematic on the condition that one is clear and confident in their own taste and style. In this way, a composition emerges whose potential eclecticism is distinguished by a recognizable personality. Not everyone can do this, and even the greatest planners cannot resist the charm of a successfully gradually grown garden.

Beautiful house. But that's hardly any snow. Come down here to the south o_O

even for Upper Franconia 60cm is not really much snow. But if you want to pave, unfortunately every cm counts. :-( (on the paving pile, the sand pile etc.)

It has finally stopped snowing...

we are now uncovering our paving installations again so that we can continue.

The excavator is also freshly welded and ready again
