Do the fake lamps also have the name on them like the China Rolex? I personally don’t know Occhia, nor does the name mean anything to me. If I saw a "copy" of it, I would just walk past. To me, it looks like typical lamps in a furniture store, electronics section. It lacks the "designer casualness." My tip: Buy what you like – no matter if it costs just ten or "only" a hundred. It only matters to you, and that closes the circle: Buy what you like!

I have also already bought a few lamps and installed and connected many. The fact is, as with everything, if you buy cheap, you buy twice. You can really save yourself some Chinese junk. And before I have bad lighting in the room, I’d rather put in a candle.

Important in my opinion, which can definitely be seen in the price (80 euros and up), is the safe and comfortable installation. Hanging up and connecting a lamp can really drive you crazy if the quality is bad. Just as important is the light you have in the room after installing the lamp. Too harsh, too many shadows, too white, too dark. There are differences.

And then comes the appearance: the fully enclosed ones, which are only open at the bottom, do look good but produce poor light. Hung too high you get blinded, and if they are low, you can only see the table, but not the people sitting there.

I can only give you the tip, even if it’s a new house or new apartment, stay simple. Very few people actually look at the lamps themselves. A nice, discreet lamp that produces good light, that’s all you need. The extravagant designer stuff will eventually stop pleasing. And if you walk into the living room and the first thing you see is the huge copper-colored orb lamp and, sorry, you almost feel like vomiting, then it’s no good either.

You wouldn't recognize the replica if you had it in your hand. With the lamps, it's a bit different.

The purchase of replicas is not supported on principle. There is no other opinion on that!

However, if a design is on the market in a slightly modified form, which is also not contested, I see no reason not to buy it.

Aside from the fact that I doubt this with watches – recognizing it is not the problem I have with unauthorized replicas. It is the principle of forgery, theft, and monetization of someone else's intellectual property. I find that highly indecent and therefore do not want to buy any of it. Usually, with a changed design, function is also lost. In the example of Occhio lamps, this is very easy to see. Many lamps look similar in form. Operation concept and LED technology, and thus also the lighting result, are far behind. I am averse to buying inferior functional fakes. Then much rather something honestly simple.
