Hello everyone,

Question:

If the screed is dry enough for the tiler to start and is already being laid in all areas – can I then have the kitchen installed right after this point without any problems?

I have heard from several sources: "Since the kitchen is made of wood, I would rather wait a bit longer and install the kitchen later."

My opinion is: If the screed is dry enough for further work such as tiling to be done, then I can also have the kitchen installed 1-2 weeks later, right?

We basically have no problem waiting another 1-2 weeks, but the kitchen fitter is so extremely busy that otherwise it might delay things by 3-4 weeks... Of course, we want to avoid that.

There is still dirt and grime on the construction site. It is also still quite damp. I would wait. It is also okay to go 2 weeks without a kitchen after moving in. (Grilling, microwave, delivery service, ....) ((wann ist Einzug??)

Should the kitchen stand directly on the screed? And should this area be left out when laying the actual flooring?

Just put it in. Just remove the trims at the bottom of the kitchen if you have concerns about that. But then please don’t put any cabinets against the walls or lay carpet, laminate, or vinyl anywhere ;-) But of course, the kitchen belongs on the tiles, so the question really doesn’t even arise?!

Of course you can. The worst thing that can happen is dust settling on the kitchen due to other remaining work. Also, besides the tiles, painting should already be done as well, since for example painting the ceiling in a finished room is always tricky.

Kitchen will be placed normally on the tiles.

It will probably all be a bit tight anyway... However, he has to deliver the kitchen to us on 11.03., as he cannot store it.

We will therefore put the kitchen in our garage and then carry it into the house for installation when the time comes.
