Hello everyone,

due to an article in a construction magazine, I came across the fact that since November 2015 there has been improved funding from the KfW regarding burglary protection.

On this topic, I personally recommend – from good personal experience – obtaining the objective advice of the police during the planning phase or before the renovation measure. The police have specially qualified staff for such consultation talks, who conduct on-site consultations without sales interest (they don’t earn anything from it) and based on their experience.

However, this does not apply to new construction.

I would be grateful for details on this, as I cannot find anything about it on the KFW page. On the KFW page it says: "We promote: the installation or refurbishment of windows in our funding product Energy-Efficient Renovation. Therefore, when choosing your windows, do not only base your decision on the energy efficiency value but also on the resistance class. Together with window replacement or external wall insulation, we also support the subsequent installation of roller shutters or window grilles.

The installation of burglar-resistant grilles and roller shutters as well as the installation of retrofit systems for windows (e.g., window bar locks, hinge-side security devices) is eligible for funding in our funding product Age-Appropriate Conversion."

If you click on New Construction and display all funding products, nothing about burglary protection appears here either.

Hello ,

thank you very much for the hint.
I had contacted KfW again regarding this and have now received an answer after the holidays.
It states that "the funding for burglary protection measures was set up for the retrofit of existing residential buildings. We do not offer separate funding for burglary protection in new buildings."

So, thanks again for the correction.

Strange, in another forum a participant wrote to me that he has just built and supposedly received the funding approval from the KFW. A new building that has only been standing for half a year is hardly an existing residential building, right?
