Is the stair dimension for a half-turn staircase too small?

We would like to keep our half-turned concrete staircase not too wide (ground floor to upper floor) to save space in other rooms.

Finished dimension of the steps: 94 cm width
Tread: 30 cm
Overall staircase opening: 2.18 m wide, 2 m deep

Unfortunately, I only know the clear room height on the ground floor: 2.47 m

The architect now says the staircase size is only a makeshift solution and he would make the staircase construction wider.

In other areas, our architect tends to exaggerate (elderly gentleman).

What do you think?

Honestly? Old school sometimes also means experience. 94cm would be too narrow for me to be comfortable.

No idea if plaster still needs to be removed at your "finished" measurement. But add another handrail and it's really just a makeshift solution.

We have 95cm and that is okay for everyday use, but I wouldn't want any less. When moving furniture (or large plants) it's actually not okay.

We have about 2.04 cm width, but it's wood and not a concrete staircase. No idea if that makes a difference. In everyday life it's okay, as long as you don't meet each other on the stairs. Moving furniture up or down is indeed a challenge.

P.S. Just measured again. Wall to the railing is 90 cm.

Thank you for your opinions on that.

Thanks for measuring!

Difficult.

One could perhaps reduce the eye, e.g. to 15 cm. However, then the steps at the curves would probably taper very narrowly at the corners. But overall it might still be better with a smaller eye, since the steps can generally be made wider.
