Phew... I thought I had roughly defined my limits and what is feasible. But so far it sounds pretty hopeless. I have heard from many that they have a loan installment of about €900, all in the range between €250,000 - €300,000 (I originally come from the Augsburg area). And with my rent in the Munich commuter belt of €770 cold and my car for €270 per month, I would have assessed the situation better. If the fixed-term contract is really the big problem, I really have to consider changing my job... although I don’t understand what’s better about a permanent position with one month’s notice. I would be out of the picture even faster than with a fixed-term contract in the public service. Does the bank expect that I will never work anywhere else for 35 years if my position is permanent?
