Good day.
Unfortunately, I cannot find a "Dach" category in the forum.
Maybe someone here can give me a tip.

Is it possible to settle a hail damage on a garage roof (metal roof) fictitiously through the building insurance?
Just like with hail damage to a car?
That is, excluding VAT.
Or is a fictitious settlement not allowed for damages covered by the building insurance?
Since it is more of an aesthetic problem, a fictitious settlement is being considered.
The defect does not currently cause nor will it cause any further defects in the future.

Thank you very much

Yes, you can. Multiple quotes with listed works make it easier. It is also common, for example, after water damage, to bill separately. Tilers, for instance, for the insurance, but painting work fictitiously. As a rule, it is about 70% of the new value. Google also provides some other examples.

For a trivial matter like dented corrugated metal, I would generally consider whether it should be handled through insurance. After 2-3 such minor damages, they quickly say goodbye and then it gets expensive.

The fictitious damage settlement is currently on the verge of being overturned in court, just as additional information.

correct. With new insurances, you increasingly lose tiered discounts per claim. A small damage is not worthwhile there.

Worse is being terminated by the insurance. It does not make finding a new insurance easier or you get a surcharge. And without insurance, no bank loan.
