You cannot charge the tenant anything years later. You only have 1 year for the operating costs statement.

Hello everyone, I called the energy provider in December and explained the case to them. I also gave them the meter number. They told me on the phone that they cannot find the meter in the system. They asked me to send everything again by email because they cannot help me further over the phone. Now seriously... I am already calling voluntarily and now I’m supposed to chase the provider? My phone call alone should be enough to check internally what’s going on. They can just take a few notes and then go on a search with the meter master. Am I obliged, besides a voluntary call, to also beg in writing that they deduct money from me?

Could it be that you misunderstood something and the second holder is only for separating the two residential units? So basically just internal separation for billing purposes? Would it fit with the meter reading from the other meter, that both consumed amounts are included there?

If you google a bit, it says that according to § 17 of the Electricity Basic Supply Ordinance (Stromgrundversorgungsverordnung), the statute of limitations only begins with the issuance of the invoice! So in fact, nothing expires there.
