Thank you for your initial support.

Basically, we are both bound by the collective agreement. There is not much that can be done there. Basically, the salary increases every year (through collective bargaining) by about 2% on average.

His net salary is multiplied by 13.9 payments (+ a bonus of 2,500 euros) and mine by 13.65 payments. So on top of the monthly net salary, there is still something extra, which, instead of the Caribbean AI, could also go into a special repayment.

Part-time is at 80%. We are very close to each other in full-time. Although next year, due to a job change, he could possibly earn another 300 euros net. But since that is only theoretical, we logically do not count on it.

Regarding family planning: A second child is not excluded. But like with the first one, it would mean just over 1 year of parental leave through Elterngeld Plus for acclimatization, etc., and then part-time again.

We think it is quite ambitious. The 1,700 euros + approx. 400 euros for ancillary costs/reserves is quite a significant amount. I am always surprised that the houses are sold like hotcakes. We don't actually earn that little and yet apparently all the people still have to earn a bit more.

525€ daycare per month? Are you guys completely crazy?

I just checked it out on Google Maps. Somewhere further out is not an option for you?

I don't respond to shouting sorry...

And this is exactly where you can consider "how?". And in 90% of cases, you don't get 15% more salary just by asking nicely... And how then? For this, I quote myself: Because this screw could actually be turned.

I want to ask a bit more precisely than "Ask the boss for more money": - Is the man in a union? (i.e. fixed salary). - Or is the salary negotiated annually?

The daycare fees depend on income. We have to pay the maximum amount of 425 euros + another 100 euros for food.

We would like to stay "at home." Further out, it is probably somewhat cheaper. We both grew up here and would also like to see our child or possibly children grow up here.

Plus, further out is often associated with additional costs for a car, etc.

That settles my question : )
You see, it just does NOT always work...

Too bad, then my suggestion unfortunately doesn't help ;(

Where does this calculation come from? Did I miss something?
You have equity = under 80% financing:
20 years interest rate lock; 1.7% interest, 1250€/month; 200k€ residual debt (after 20 years that's not much money anyway) and 300€ incidental costs are enough for a new build.

Best regards

I took the 1,700 euros from the post by Knallkörper on the first page. He had made an example calculation there.

How do you get 1,250 euros? 1.7% interest and another 1.7% (approx.) repayment? 1,250 euros + ancillary costs are of course a completely different league than the 1,700 euros per month. Then the numbers are no longer so intimidating.
