Hello everyone,

I have heard different opinions so far, so I wanted to ask in this group.
We will soon move into our new building. Our architect recently asked us if we want an energy certificate.
Isn't this mandatory by now, even for owner-occupied property?
(House is planned according to the Energy Saving Ordinance 2016, no KFW standard/funding)

Please share your valued opinion.

Thanks and regards
Julian

Yes, it is mandatory.

If it is obtained free of charge through the architect, then take it. Otherwise, do without it.

For our house, an energy calculation was submitted with the building application in 2018. We neither followed KfW standards nor subsidies. Construction was carried out exactly as planned. No tests were conducted or proofs required.
