Is a pull-out worktop for Metod available at IKEA?

we are currently planning our new kitchen - and we came across a nice solution on how we can fix the drawback that we will not have a table in our small kitchen. At an "expensive" kitchen studio, we saw that there was an extendable worktop behind a drawer in a display piece. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything like that at Ikea and therefore wanted to ask here if something like that might exist by chance, or if someone has "rebuilt" something like that.

Hello, something like that does not exist from IKEA. It shouldn't be too difficult to make it yourself. With such constructions, you have to think carefully about whether you would actually use it. I would first install a normal drawer and then, when using the kitchen, pay attention to whether I miss such a surface and can live with one less drawer for that.

I can only agree with the IKEA expert. These extendable tables were already popular years ago and often led to two chairs standing around uselessly when the drawer table was pushed in. As a child in the 70s, I often stumbled over chairs in kitchens at my aunt's and friends' houses, which only made sense there at second glance.
