Yep, commissioning can be backdated in MaStR. You don't need a grid operator for registration, if I remember correctly. Currently, I'd keep my feet still until the political situation is clarified. You already hear and read about supply shortages due to Covid-19, who wants to guarantee installation dates there. In addition, the price for modules has already increased by 20%, so I would wait for things to calm down. Bad timing.

The commissioning date counts

Commissioning date:
The date of the initial commissioning is usually provided by the "commissioning protocol" issued by the system installer.

    [*]The date of the initial commissioning of the unit is independent of the date of the first feed-in to the grid, the date of the grid connection, and the date of installing a meter.  These dates do not have to be entered in the MaStR.

Received a call today that my delivery of the modules is now postponed from the end of March to mid-April. Everything else is available, just not the modules. According to the phone call, depending on the manufacturer, deliveries are even delayed until June.....

Delivery date for me is also mid-April. The commissioning is scheduled immediately after the delivery.

Modules are JA Solar 320 Full Black and inverter SMA.
