Is a fireplace still useful in new buildings today - experiences?

Fine dust is also present INSIDE the house. Not in huge amounts, but what do you think is the stuff you regularly have to clean up in, on, and around the fireplace?

Fireplace in a new house I already had. Sure, it's cozy. But also a lot of dirt and extra work. And before you know it, the place is totally overheated.

The house now (still under construction) will be EVEN better insulated and EVEN tighter. Fireplace? Nooo. No more desire!

I have everything here live and in color... we are 7 houses here, which were built by the same companies over a period from 2009-2011.

3 houses have a fireplace. The fireplaces are usually on 1-3 times a year.

At one neighbor, the fireplace was last on in December 2016.

We don't have one...

Better to have a nice fire pit or a pizza oven, etc., in the garden.
