Level monitoring using an ultrasonic sensor.

For these pipeline lengths to the distributors, I would go with DN40. In the circuits DN32.

Keep the cistern water outside. Save yourself the penetrations. Either simply connect a water column or water box from Plug&Rechtsanwältin.
You blow out the entire irrigation and cistern line in autumn simply with a compressor.
Best a box with filter and possibly main valve. How many circuits and valves you need then depends on your garden.
But with this preparation, it doesn't matter. Then (almost) everything is possible.

It needs full sun and plenty of water.

I have never cleaned any nozzles, the irrigation computers and the distributor go into the basement, and the pipelines have vent valves. I had to replace a spray hose once, but in terms of cost, it’s not the end of the world.

One last question regarding this: What do you mean by "box with filter and possibly main valve"? Does that refer to the valve boxes, i.e., does each box contain a filter and a main valve? And regarding emptying the circuits in winter: Can the line from the cistern pump to the distributors really just be blown through? At the end is the pump (under water), so the remaining water can’t get out, right?

I would place a filter and a main valve behind the cistern pump. Preferably in an empty valve box. The main valve has the advantage that the system is pressure-free. This way the pump does not continue to pump if there is a small leak (or even a large one) somewhere. Hydrawise can control both the main valve and the zone. It also works without a main valve. Everything just has to be absolutely tight otherwise the pump will build up pressure again and again. A filter is mandatory if your water comes from a cistern.

Once again, very good idea, I would never have thought of that! Silly question: Can the main valve also be placed inside each of the two actual boxes, or does that cause problems with space or control? So the water line would look like this overall: Pump ==> one branch each for Box1, Box2, and one for each water socket/tap point/etc. Or can the tap points also be connected in series?
