Sometimes manganese even settles when you let the water run into a light-colored bucket, there are then small grains like sand or even flakes.

Removing manganese from the water is laborious and expensive.

You can ask your well builder if he has the water values.

Otherwise, you can have an analysis done to determine the values.

Costs around 100 euros.

I can try the bucket thing today. The well driller only did a quick test of the iron content after drilling, and it showed very little iron. But I would say that has changed by now. I have now simply taken the filter out of the housing for the time being. The water still flows through the housing, but without the filter. Now, on the one hand, I can actually reach the range as planned in theory. And on the other hand, the flow rate does not decrease. (At least not noticeably) Here are 2 pictures of the filter after removal: [ATTACH alt="IMG_4812.jpg" type="full"]47560[/ATTACH] [ATTACH alt="IMG_4813.jpg" type="full"]47561[/ATTACH] As you can see, the filter discs are already slightly blackened, but when you look at them individually it doesn’t look so bad. But it apparently is, since it runs noticeably better without it now. In the second photo, you can see that there are deposits on top. At first, I thought it was sand. I feared that the pump was too close to the filter and sucking it up. But if you say that manganese looks just like that, then it is probably that. In between, there were also small particles that were bluish. Looks like plastic. Regards

Mangan would be black, the bright grains at the edge of the metal spiral are likely [Sand]. Manganese can be crushed, then you have a paste ranging in color from black to reddish yellow.

Some black dots can be seen on the filter.

Hi Rick,

What do you think of the Wilo TWU 3 (0123/0130) for garden irrigation (approx. 250 sqm) and a well depth of about 18-20 meters? Do you have experience with this pump?

the pump has a low flow rate per hour. According to the pump curve, just over 2.5 m3 / h at 20 meters head. Make sure you find one that delivers around 4-6 m3. Otherwise, you will need more circuits. If you already have small circuits and the flow rate is sufficient, you can safely use the pump.

Since I am now slowly getting to the planning stage, I have read through the entire thread. Virtually everything you need to know is already in there. One thing I was still wondering:

What is the most elegant solution to be able to supply the irrigation both from the cistern and from the main line?
